This 75-minute guided tour features the Easter story illustrated through medieval works of art in stained glass, sculpture, and painting. The biblical narrative involves tremendous sadness, followed by great joy; key episodes highlighted on this tour include the Last Supper, the Crucifixion, the Resurrection, and the Ascension of Christ into heaven. Visitors also learn how Easter was celebrated at Glencairn by the Pitcairn family. Access to the exhibition, Rushnyky: Sacred Ukrainian Textiles, is included with your tour admission.

It’s that time of year again! Join us for our popular, annual, Spring Homeschool Day event at Glencairn Museum. Bring friends and family along for a morning full of spring-themed activities and crafts. Explore the Museum’s galleries, and enjoy time connecting with other homeschoolers. Experience religious art in the making: witness demonstrators using metal, glass, sand, stone, eggs, and ink to create beautiful expressions of faith.
This event is an opportunity to self-guide throughout the building, including all galleries, the primary bedroom, and the Tower. While here, visit the temporary exhibition Rushnyky: Sacred Ukrainian Textiles and participate in family-friendly activities.

In this four-hour, hands-on workshop, participants will explore meditation and mindfulness practices through guided creative mark making with acrylic paints. There will be facilitated meditations and opportunities for independent exploration of paint on canvas. The focus will be on the process of opening to kindness in the creative process, and the use of creative expression as an entry point to a kind presence with self and others.
This offering centers practices of meditation and mindfulness (specifically around being present in this moment, self-compassion, and the heart-expanding loving kindness practice).

Plus, hear directly from Andrij and Luba about the stunning diorama they created that is featured in the exhibition, Rushnyky: Sacred Ukrainian Textiles.
Then, unlock your creativity in our brand-new, state-of-the-art Studio. Learn expert diorama-making techniques and bring one of the stories from the tour to life in your own miniature masterpiece. All supplies are included—just bring your imagination!
