Glencairn Museum invites you to a free, family-friendly outdoor concert on the campus of Bryn Athyn College, our last of the 2021-22 concert season! Bring a blanket or lawn chair, purchase dinner at the Lions Café*, and enjoy the sounds of Musiquita! with special guests Sara Niemietz and Martina DaSilva, from Postmodern Jukebox.

Musiquita! will play a set at 6:30 pm, followed directly by a full band, all-ages performance featuring Sara Niemitz (vocals), Martina DaSilva (vocals) Blanca Gonzalez (vocals/violin), Matt Parker (sax/clarinet), Jesse Elder (keys), Rashaan Carter (bass) & Jerome Jennings (drums).

We are thrilled to welcome back Blanca Cecilia González (violin) and Jesse Elder (piano). The duo was previously named 1IN2. Musiquita!, another passion project that brings the duo great joy, is a collaboration that began just after Blanca gave birth to her and Jesse’s second child (they are partners in life as well as music). Musiquita! is a playful exploration of Spanish and English music and song, which combines not just music but language and culture into a joyful celebration, appropriate for all ages.

Blanca and Jesse have found a wealth of musical inspiration in their process of marrying elements of classical music with jazz, Latin, original compositions, various popular music styles, and free improvisation. Their live show is a perpetual work in progress, constantly evolving as they make new discoveries.

Blanca holds a Master of Music Degree from The Juilliard School in New York City. Jesse, a four-time ASCAP award-winning composer based in New York City, is also the pianist and Music Director for Postmodern Jukebox (PMJ) with whom he has toured extensively throughout Europe, the US, and Canada. It is this connection that will afford those who attend the opportunity to enjoy Gonzalez and Elder’s sound backed by a full band at this performance, which will also feature Niemietz and DaSilva from PMJ.

In the case of inclement weather, the concert will be held at the Jungé Pavilion.

Bryn Athyn College will be in session. No alcohol is permitted.

*The Lion’s Cafe serves crowd pleasing favorites, like burgers, chicken fingers, french fries, and more! They accept Campus Cash, debit or credit cards only.
