Glencairn Museum News | Number 8, 2021
According to Educational Programs Manager Amy Glenn, “Glencairn Museum Kids was created as a space designed specifically for kids and their families to find fun and educational ways to engage with the Glencairn collection and mission. As we began to add digital resources to our website over the closures in 2020, we realized that we had a lot of content for teachers, homeschoolers, and students, but not any dedicated space just for kids to have fun! That’s why we decided to create Glencairn Museum Kids.“
“It started with just one video idea—how to make a stained-glass window from basic household materials—and now it’s grown to include over 40 different activities with new ones being added often. When designing it, our main focus was making sure that it was visually exciting, easy to navigate, and useable by kids of all ages. With the launch of Glencairn Museum Kids, the Education section of the website is now able to become much more focused on hosting resources for teachers and educators, and for providing materials specifically connected to our education programs.”
